Okay, so a lot of the time, otherkins and the like identify as animals, but I've heard that some identify as machines and inanimate objects? Is this true?

I'm just saying hello :3 I didn't know what otherkin were so I'm really about to do a lot of reasearch here. I'm a furry, but from what I see, that's not the same thing exactly. But I can definitely feel the dysphoria from a missing... Err "appendage" just the same.
